Our clients often want to know if balayage and ombre are the same thing. The answer is: they are not.
So, what's the difference? To put it simply, balayage is a hand-painted application of highlights usually intended to make your hair look like it is sun-kissed. You know, that "late summertime" look. Ombre is a two-toned hair color effect that is typically darker at the roots and lighter at the ends. Ombre can be very dramatic or quite subtle depending upon your wishes.
Kim will help you select the colors that you'll use with balayage or ombre. Color selection is somewhat dependent upon your natural hair color, and Kim will help you understand your options. We also recommend that you search the web to see what different colors can look like.
You can also combine balayage and ombre, and this amazing fusion is called flamboyage. Flamboyage is an ombre look with some sun-kissed highlights added in. It's gorgeous, and it might be right for you.
